BookHub is a Chrome extension that helps you organize and understand your bookmarks using AI. This policy explains
what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
What we collect
Email address and password hash — when you create an account, used to identify you and manage
your subscription.
Bookmark URLs and titles — sent to our API to categorize and describe your bookmarks using AI.
We do not store your bookmarks on our servers; they are stored locally in your browser.
Usage count — we track how many bookmarks you have analyzed to enforce the free plan limit.
Subscription status — whether you are on the free or pro plan, managed via Stripe.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your browsing history.
We do not sell your data to third parties.
We do not track you across websites.
We do not store the content of web pages you visit.
How we use your data
AI categorization — bookmark URLs and titles are sent to our API, which uses the Anthropic
Claude API to generate a category and short description. This data is not stored on our servers after processing.
Account management — your email is used to identify your account and send subscription-related
emails via Stripe.
Payments — payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store credit card information.
See Stripe's privacy policy.
Data storage
Your bookmarks are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's local storage API. They are not uploaded to our
servers. Your account data (email, plan status, usage count) is stored in a secure database hosted by Neon.
Data retention
Your account data is retained as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from the
BookHub settings, which permanently removes all your data from our servers.
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To delete your account and all
associated data, go to BookHub Settings and click "Delete account". For any other requests, contact us at the
address below.
